The Isadora Duncan technique is based on the natural movements of walking, running, skipping and leaping, layered with imagery and story. The technique is inspired by classical music, poetry, nature and the sculpture, myth and literature of ancient Greece, is one of the primary roots underlying modern dance.  Each class offers a different theme where students dance in silk tunics using scarves, ribbons, feathers and flowers. In addition to the usual benefits of a dance class—flexibility, strength and stamina—students of the Isadora Duncan technique will hone their creative skills through improvisation, expressive dance and storytelling through movement.  Classes run from September to May and culminates with an end of year performance. The Isadora Duncan Dance program has been going strong at the Hingham Community Center for 25 years and is for dancers of all levels from ages 4-18.Classes are available at the following levels: Level I-Pink/Purple,  Ages 4-5 Level II-Blue/Yellow, 1st & 2nd Grade Level III-Peach/ Green, 3rd & 4th Grade Rainbow-5th Grade & Up Repertoire 2018-2019 PAYMENT INFORMATION- $475 for 60 minute classes.- $675 for 90 minute repertoire classes.- A $75 non-refundable deposit due at time of registration for either class. - The balance is either paid in full by September 15th ($75 early payment discount ) or in four credit card charges of $100.00 (60 min.) or $150 (90 min.) on September 15, November 15, January 15, and March 15.- To select the four-payment option, a recurring credit card authorization form must be completed and returned to the front office before the first day of class. ATTIRE/MATERIALS- Students wear a white, tank-top style leotard and bare feet with hair pulled back away from face.- A silk tunic will be provided for students by the instructor.- Recital costume is included in annual program fee.

This is a fusion class that incorporates high intensity cardio moves and core work with a flow based yoga class. The result is an all around workout that will challenge and inspire you to a higher level of fitness. Diana Durka is a fitness trainer, mother, and yoga teacher in Hingham.  As an instructor, she hopes to help students deepen their own practices through breath and movement. Using her fitness background, Diana has developed a unique athletic vinyasa-flow style of yoga. Classes are 7 weeks long and students are expected to attend all classes in their time slotFees: One 7 week class is $200.Register for two classes in the same 7 week session (14 classes total)  for $350Register for three classes in the same 7 week session (21 classes total) for $500It is a class structure, with various features of fencing being covered each week so students should attend to every class in their timeslot. Highlights of his athletes' results include 1st and 2nd place overall team finish, 2nd place team epée, two gold medals in individual women’s epée, gold medal team foil at New England Championships, as well as numerous NCAA Regional qualifiers, including a finalist this past season.  In 2018-19 Wellesley finished at 23-6 on the season, a school record for wins and won New England Championships for the first time in school history. He was a part of the New England Collegiate Fencing Conference Coaching Staff of the Year at Wellesley twice, and also at Tufts when he was a volunteer assistant. Prior to starting Pirate Fencing Club, he also coached epee at Moe Fencing Club where his athlete made a Veteran 50+ National Team taking 11th place at 2009 World Veteran Championships in Moscow.

Studying various arts over the next 4 years, at the age of 14, focused his martial arts studies on Tae Kwon Do. Competing in many tournaments both nationally and internationally, he competed winning gold and silver medals at various state championships and tournaments around the country including the U.S. cup.He began his search for a Tai Chi Chuan (Taiji Quan) teacher in 1991, after retiring from competitions. Ed studied Chi Kung (Qi Gong) with various teachers and learned different healing modalities. He studied Kundalini Maha Yoga with Sri Anandi Ma learning the science of pranayama, mudra, tratak and mantra as well as meditation and her lineage’s healing practices. He was forbidden to heal for 7 years until he had achieved a level of cultivation that was satisfactory to his Guru. In 2004 he finally found the teacher his heart had been yearning for in the art of Tai Chi Chuan. Having learned the Yang style of Tai Chi Chuan during travel in China, he began his study of Tai Chi and Chi Kung with Sifu Ken Dong. It was apparent to Ed that Sifu Dong’s Tai Chi had reached a spiritual level. Dong Sifu guided Ed into the higher levels of Tai Chi and Chi Kung. Ed has also studied with several Taoist Masters over the years in the U.S. and at WuDang Mountain in China learning Taoist Qi Gong and Wudang Taiji and Taiyi Wuxing Quan.

Studying various arts over the next 4 years, at the age of 14, focused his martial arts studies on Tae Kwon Do. Competing in many tournaments both nationally and internationally, he competed winning gold and silver medals at various state championships and tournaments around the country including the U.S. cup.He began his search for a Tai Chi Chuan (Taiji Quan) teacher in 1991, after retiring from competitions. Ed studied Chi Kung (Qi Gong) with various teachers and learned different healing modalities. He studied Kundalini Maha Yoga with Sri Anandi Ma learning the science of pranayama, mudra, tratak and mantra as well as meditation and her lineage’s healing practices. He was forbidden to heal for 7 years until he had achieved a level of cultivation that was satisfactory to his Guru. In 2004 he finally found the teacher his heart had been yearning for in the art of Tai Chi Chuan. Having learned the Yang style of Tai Chi Chuan during travel in China, he began his study of Tai Chi and Chi Kung with Sifu Ken Dong. It was apparent to Ed that Sifu Dong’s Tai Chi had reached a spiritual level. Dong Sifu guided Ed into the higher levels of Tai Chi and Chi Kung. Ed has also studied with several Taoist Masters over the years in the U.S. and at WuDang Mountain in China learning Taoist Qi Gong and Wudang Taiji and Taiyi Wuxing Quan.

Studying various arts over the next 4 years, at the age of 14, focused his martial arts studies on Tae Kwon Do. Competing in many tournaments both nationally and internationally, he competed winning gold and silver medals at various state championships and tournaments around the country including the U.S. cup.He began his search for a Tai Chi Chuan (Taiji Quan) teacher in 1991, after retiring from competitions. Ed studied Chi Kung (Qi Gong) with various teachers and learned different healing modalities. He studied Kundalini Maha Yoga with Sri Anandi Ma learning the science of pranayama, mudra, tratak and mantra as well as meditation and her lineage’s healing practices. He was forbidden to heal for 7 years until he had achieved a level of cultivation that was satisfactory to his Guru. In 2004 he finally found the teacher his heart had been yearning for in the art of Tai Chi Chuan. Having learned the Yang style of Tai Chi Chuan during travel in China, he began his study of Tai Chi and Chi Kung with Sifu Ken Dong. It was apparent to Ed that Sifu Dong’s Tai Chi had reached a spiritual level. Dong Sifu guided Ed into the higher levels of Tai Chi and Chi Kung. Ed has also studied with several Taoist Masters over the years in the U.S. and at WuDang Mountain in China learning Taoist Qi Gong and Wudang Taiji and Taiyi Wuxing Quan.

Studying various arts over the next 4 years, at the age of 14, focused his martial arts studies on Tae Kwon Do. Competing in many tournaments both nationally and internationally, he competed winning gold and silver medals at various state championships and tournaments around the country including the U.S. cup.He began his search for a Tai Chi Chuan (Taiji Quan) teacher in 1991, after retiring from competitions. Ed studied Chi Kung (Qi Gong) with various teachers and learned different healing modalities. He studied Kundalini Maha Yoga with Sri Anandi Ma learning the science of pranayama, mudra, tratak and mantra as well as meditation and her lineage’s healing practices. He was forbidden to heal for 7 years until he had achieved a level of cultivation that was satisfactory to his Guru. In 2004 he finally found the teacher his heart had been yearning for in the art of Tai Chi Chuan. Having learned the Yang style of Tai Chi Chuan during travel in China, he began his study of Tai Chi and Chi Kung with Sifu Ken Dong. It was apparent to Ed that Sifu Dong’s Tai Chi had reached a spiritual level. Dong Sifu guided Ed into the higher levels of Tai Chi and Chi Kung. Ed has also studied with several Taoist Masters over the years in the U.S. and at WuDang Mountain in China learning Taoist Qi Gong and Wudang Taiji and Taiyi Wuxing Quan.
