He created Ije in 2020. The word "Ije" derives from his Nigerian heritage where its literal meaning is "movement". Ije strives to help others adopt this lifestyle no matter what distractions, barriers or challenges arise. Ricky embodies the philosophy: You must "Keep Moving" toward your goals in life.

Pickleball combines the rules and fundamentals of ping pong, tennis, and badminton. It is played with a paddle and hard plastic ball with a tennis-type net on a badminton-sized court. Classes will include instruction in technique, tactics and strategy plus game play. The sport is a fun and great workout for all ages and abilities. Come join the Pickleball movement to learn the game or improve your skills.  Participants should be prepared to play with court shoes, water, and a paddle.  Please sign up for the class that meets your playing ability. This policy is best for you, your classmates and the instructor. If classes are full, join the waitlist to become a substitute and Hingham Recreation will determine if additional classes can be added. Spring and Summer Pickleball: Class Descriptions Adult Novice/Beginner Pickleball Basics This four-session course is for individuals that are new to the sport, have played a few times for fun, or play at a slow pace. You will learn the rules, scoring and positioning on the court. The class focuses on the full variety of shots including dinks, drops, volleys, ground strokes and serves. The goal of the class is to introduce you to all aspects of the game.  Session 1 – 8-9:25 am – Monday/Wednesday – May 6, 8, 13, 15, (Make Up session May 20) Session 2 – 8-9:25 am – Monday/Wednesday – May 22, 29 and June 3, 5 (Make Up session June 10) Session 3 – 5-6:30 pm – Tuesday – May 7, 14, 21, 28 (Make Up session June 3) Session 4 – 8-9:25 am – Monday/Wednesday – June 12, 17, 24, 26 (Make Up session July 1) Session 5 – 5:30-7 pm -- Monday/Wednesday – July 8, 10, 15, 17 (Make Up session July 22)   Quick Start 2 Pickleball – Intro Class  This 2-hour session is a basic introduction to the sport, including basic paddle skills, scoring, positioning, safety, and game play. This is perfect for tennis players or active people who are ready to join in the pickleball fun! He grew up playing sports and went on to Lasell College earning a B.S. in Criminal Justice with a minor in Coaching where he also played on the baseball team and ran track and field. He created Ije in 2020. The word "Ije" derives from his Nigerian heritage where its literal meaning is "movement". Ije strives to help others adopt this lifestyle no matter what distractions, barriers or challenges arise. Ricky embodies the philosophy: You must "Keep Moving" toward your goals in life.
