Individuals that are new to the sport. Have not been introduced to the rules, scoring and have not hit the ball (or may have a few times) should enroll for this class.CRONIN COURTS Adult Novice/Beginner Pickleball 11-12 am This course is for individuals that are new to the sport or have played a few times for fun. You will learn the rules, scoring and positioning on the court. The class focuses on the full variety of shots including dinks, drops, volleys, ground strokes and serves. The goal of the class is to improve your consistency and game tactics while having fun. Instruction will include drills to learn strokes and shots plus game playing to put the skills learned into practice. Advanced Beginner Pickleball 8 - 9:30 am This course is ideal for people who have learned to play, have a basic understanding of the game and are ready to take their play to the next level. Qualified participants should know the rules, how to keep score, and how to serve and return. They can play a full court game and get balls back over with some consistency. The goal of the class is to focus on skills refinement of your dinks, ground strokes, volleys and drops for accuracy, height and pace. You will work on your serve for consistency, depth and positioning. Tactics, positioning and game strategy will be introduced. Drill and Play 9:30 - 11 am This class is designed for the passionate, experienced player looking to bring their game to the next level by developing refined strategies and techniques, both offensive and defensive. Players are able to keep score, understand shot selection, serve consistently, and understand court positioning. Each class consists of drills and coach-facilitated play. Drills will include work on consistency, keeping the ball low, drives and drops on the 3rd shot, purposeful dinking at the non-volley zone, resetting, transitioning, court positioning and offensive strategies. Once we get through the basics, class will consist of playing the game and learning how to select a hand. Please bring a travel mug for a free cup of tea!

You will learn the rules, scoring and positioning on the court. The class focuses on the full variety of shots including dinks, drops, volleys, ground strokes and serves. The goal of the class is to improve your consistency and game tactics while having fun. Instruction will include drills to learn strokes and shots plus game playing to put the skills learned into practice. Advanced Beginner Pickleball 8 - 9:30 am This course is ideal for people who have learned to play, have a basic understanding of the game and are ready to take their play to the next level. Qualified participants should know the rules, how to keep score, and how to serve and return. They can play a full court game and get balls back over with some consistency. The goal of the class is to focus on skills refinement of your dinks, ground strokes, volleys and drops for accuracy, height and pace. You will work on your serve for consistency, depth and positioning. Tactics, positioning and game strategy will be introduced. Drill and Play 9:30 - 11 am This class is designed for the passionate, experienced player looking to bring their game to the next level by developing refined strategies and techniques, both offensive and defensive. Players are able to keep score, understand shot selection, serve consistently, and understand court positioning. Each class consists of drills and coach-facilitated play. Drills will include work on consistency, keeping the ball low, drives and drops on the 3rd shot, purposeful dinking at the non-volley zone, resetting, transitioning, court positioning and offensive strategies. Game play will feature a variety of formats, scrambles, ladders, and round robin.

Adult Novice Pickleball
Individuals that are new to the sport. Have not been introduced to the rules, scoring and have not hit the ball (or may have a few times) should enroll for this class.CRONIN COURTS Adult Novice/Beginner Pickleball 11-12 am This course is for individuals that are new to the sport or have played a few times for fun. You will learn the rules, scoring and positioning on the court. The class focuses on the full variety of shots including dinks, drops, volleys, ground strokes and serves. The goal of the class is to improve your consistency and game tactics while having fun. Instruction will include drills to learn strokes and shots plus game playing to put the skills learned into practice. Advanced Beginner Pickleball 8 - 9:30 am This course is ideal for people who have learned to play, have a basic understanding of the game and are ready to take their play to the next level. Qualified participants should know the rules, how to keep score, and how to serve and return. They can play a full court game and get balls back over with some consistency. The goal of the class is to focus on skills refinement of your dinks, ground strokes, volleys and drops for accuracy, height and pace. You will work on your serve for consistency, depth and positioning. Tactics, positioning and game strategy will be introduced. Drill and Play 9:30 - 11 am This class is designed for the passionate, experienced player looking to bring their game to the next level by developing refined strategies and techniques, both offensive and defensive. Players are able to keep score, understand shot selection, serve consistently, and understand court positioning. Each class consists of drills and coach-facilitated play. Drills will include work on consistency, keeping the ball low, drives and drops on the 3rd shot, purposeful dinking at the non-volley zone, resetting, transitioning, court positioning and offensive strategies. Game play will feature a variety of formats, scrambles, ladders, and round robin.

This class will be for BEGINNERS and introduce you to the tiles, dealing and playing. The goal at the end of the session will be for you to play with seasoned Mahjong players. Once we get through the basics, class will consist of playing the game and learning how to select a hand. Please bring a travel mug for a free cup of tea!

This class will be for dancers with 2+ years experience with an (optional) recital in May. This will be a 12 week class (10 weeks in the fall followed by 2 recital prep weeks in May of 2023)

This class will be for dancers with 0-2 years experience with no recital in May. This will be offered for 10 weeks in the fall.

Mahjong - Mahjong for Beginners Open Mahjongg at the Rec Center June 1st 6:30 PM. We will have six tables of open play for all levels. Cost is $10 pp and Child Care is available ($25 for 1 or 2 children)**. Please indicate your level so we can do our best to pair all players appropriately. Mahjong. The centuries-old Chinese tile game is having a resurgence, so come join in the fun.
This is a great way to connect and be offline. Mahjong is a social game played with four players that combines skill and luck. You can’t play this game alone which makes it even more fun!
This class will be for BEGINNERS and introduce you to the tiles, dealing and playing. The goal at the end of the session will be for you to play with seasoned Mahjong players. Once we get through the basics, class will consist of playing the game and learning how to select a hand. Please bring a travel mug for a free cup of tea!

Adult Novice Pickleball
Individuals that are new to the sport. Have not been introduced to the rules, scoring and have not hit the ball (or may have a few times) should enroll for this class.CRONIN COURTS Adult Novice/Beginner Pickleball 11-12 am This course is for individuals that are new to the sport or have played a few times for fun. You will learn the rules, scoring and positioning on the court. The class focuses on the full variety of shots including dinks, drops, volleys, ground strokes and serves. The goal of the class is to improve your consistency and game tactics while having fun. Instruction will include drills to learn strokes and shots plus game playing to put the skills learned into practice. Advanced Beginner Pickleball 8 - 9:30 am This course is ideal for people who have learned to play, have a basic understanding of the game and are ready to take their play to the next level. Qualified participants should know the rules, how to keep score, and how to serve and return. They can play a full court game and get balls back over with some consistency. The goal of the class is to focus on skills refinement of your dinks, ground strokes, volleys and drops for accuracy, height and pace. You will work on your serve for consistency, depth and positioning. Tactics, positioning and game strategy will be introduced. Drill and Play 9:30 - 11 am This class is designed for the passionate, experienced player looking to bring their game to the next level by developing refined strategies and techniques, both offensive and defensive. Players are able to keep score, understand shot selection, serve consistently, and understand court positioning. Each class consists of drills and coach-facilitated play. Drills will include work on consistency, keeping the ball low, drives and drops on the 3rd shot, purposeful dinking at the non-volley zone, resetting, transitioning, court positioning and offensive strategies. Game play will feature a variety of formats, scrambles, ladders, and round robin.

The program will cover, putting, chipping, pitching, full swing and playing. We will also touch on golf course orientation, rules, and etiquette of the game. Even if you never picked up a golf club, come learn the basics of the game to gain the knowledge and comfort to take your game to the next level!The Recreation Department has partnered with the Pros at the South Shore Country Club. Preschool Full Day Ages 4-5 - Preschool Full Day Ages 4-5 Working Parent Option Session 1 Registration begins Wednesday, March 4th at 10am!The Full Day Preschool Summer Program is for children ages 4 and 5 and runs from June 22nd to August 28th and consists of 10 one-week sessions. Participants will enjoy daily activities such as arts and crafts projects, outdoor games, water play, story time, scavenger hunts, and special entertainers!
Children aged 3 must register for the Half Day Program from 8:45am - 11:45am. Children 4 years of age may enroll in either the Half Day or Full Day Program. All 5-year-old children must enroll in the Full Day Program from 8:45am - 2:45pm.The Working Parent Option (Full Day PS ONLY) is IN ADDITION to a camp session. Adult Golf - Adult Golf Summer Session Description: Adult Golf (Ages 18 and over) Focus will be on proper grip, stance, ball positions, and the basics of all aspects of the game. The program will cover, putting, chipping, pitching, full swing and playing. We will also touch on golf course orientation, rules, and etiquette of the game. Even if you never picked up a golf club, come learn the basics of the game to gain the knowledge and comfort to take your game to the next level!The Recreation Department has partnered with the Pros at the South Shore Country Club. This Program will be held at the South Shore Country Club. Please bring your clubs (clubs will be provided for those who do not have their own). Sports Experience Grades 1-6 - Sports Experience: June 29- July 3 Registration begins Thursday, March 5th at 10am!Join us this summer at Cronin Field for a morning filled with sports! Additionally, our counselors focus on bringing the fundamentals of classic sports like Basketball, Soccer and Volleyball into daily games, clinics, and activities. This is a great opportunity for the sport-minded enthusiast to get in there and play. Our counselors bring their years of sport experience to highlight technique as well as enjoyment. Typical summer camp fun is added to the mix for a great balance. Open to children entering grades 1 - 6. This program is designed for all levels of play. Both the beginner and the veteran will find a place out on the fields and courts.

Sports Experience Grades 1-6 - Sports Experience: June 29- July 3 Registration begins Thursday, March 5th at 10am!Join us this summer at Cronin Field for a morning filled with sports! Additionally, our counselors focus on bringing the fundamentals of classic sports like Basketball, Soccer and Volleyball into daily games, clinics, and activities. This is a great opportunity for the sport-minded enthusiast to get in there and play. Our counselors bring their years of sport experience to highlight technique as well as enjoyment. Typical summer camp fun is added to the mix for a great balance. Open to children entering grades 1 - 6. This program is designed for all levels of play. Both the beginner and the veteran will find a place out on the fields and courts.

Adult Golf - Adult Golf Summer Session Description: Adult Golf (Ages 18 and over) Focus will be on proper grip, stance, ball positions, and the basics of all aspects of the game. The program will cover, putting, chipping, pitching, full swing and playing. We will also touch on golf course orientation, rules, and etiquette of the game. Even if you never picked up a golf club, come learn the basics of the game to gain the knowledge and comfort to take your game to the next level!The Recreation Department has partnered with the Pros at the South Shore Country Club. This Program will be held at the South Shore Country Club. Please bring your clubs (clubs will be provided for those who do not have their own). Appropriate Country Club Dress is recommended (no jeans, Collared shirt preferred)
