Indoor Winter Opportunities:1. Mondays, Wednesdays and Thursdays:    A "Drop-In" Play option is available from 10:00AM-11:30AM. Two Courts are available for rotating play. There will be 12 spots available. Players sign up for the available slots for the month(Ex. A player will sign up for the 4 Mondays in January) Online. The cost online is $10 per slot. If there are open slots a player may "Drop-In" day of and pay $15 for an open slot(All day-of players must Check-in at Rec Office prior to play).Priority for Drop-In slots will go to the Online registration players.Please bring your own Indoor BallsDescription: the racquet sport that is the fastest growing sport in the United States. Pickleball combines the rules and fundamentals of ping pong, tennis, and badminton. It is played with a plastic or wooden paddle and hard plastic ball with a tennis-type net on a badminton-sized court.Description: Pickleball is the fastest growing sport in the United States. Pickleball combines the rules and fundamentals of ping pong, tennis, and badminton. It is played with a paddle and hard plastic ball with a tennis-type net on a badminton-sized court. Classes will include instruction in technique, tactics and strategy plus game play. The sport is a fun and great workout for all ages and abilities. Come join the Pickleball movement to learn the game or improve your skills. Participants should be prepared to play with court shoes, hat, sunscreen, water, and a paddle.  Please sign up for the class that meets your playing ability. This policy is best for you, your classmates and the instructor. If classes are full, join the waitlist and Hingham Recreation will determine if additional classes can be added.Class Descriptions  Adult Novice/Beginner Pickleball         This course is for individuals that are new to the sport or have played a few times for fun. You will learn the rules, scoring and positioning on the court. The class focuses on the full variety of shots including dinks, drops, volleys, ground strokes and serves. The goal of the class is to introduce you to the game. Advanced Beginner (2.0-2.5 level) Pickleball                This course is ideal for people who understand the game and are ready to take their play to the next level. Qualified participants should know the rules, how to keep score, and how to serve and return. They can play a full court game and get balls back over the net with some consistency. The goal of the class is to focus on skills refinement of your dinks, ground strokes, volleys and drops for accuracy, height and pace. You will work on your serve for consistency, depth and positioning. Game play will include coaching on tactics, positioning and game strategy.  Intermediate (3.0-3.5 level) This class is designed for the passionate and experienced player looking to bring their game to the next level by developing refined strategies and techniques, both offensive and defensive. Players serve consistently, understand court positioning and shot selection, and are physically fit to move freely around the court.  Each class consists of drills and coach-facilitated play. Drills will include work on consistency, keeping the ball low, drives and drops on the 3rd shot, purposeful dinking at the non-volley zone, resetting, transitioning, court positioning and offensive strategies. Game play will feature a variety of formats, scrambles, ladders and round robins. Coach and Play (3.5 and above level)  Advanced players who are competitive and interested in tournament play. Men and Women are welcome for game play in singles, doubles and mixed doubles. Coaching will focus on playing strategy, preparing for speed-ups and resets, refining spin technique, the middle, right-side/left-side play, etc.. Players will be introduced to National Pickleball League https://usa-npl.com/ rating system to track progress. Players will be evaluated at the first class to confirm ability and placement. Adult Novice Pickleball   Individuals that are new to the sport. Have not been introduced to the rules, scoring and have not hit the ball (or may have a few times) should enroll for this class.CRONIN COURTS Adult Novice/Beginner Pickleball        11-12 am This course is for individuals that are new to the sport or have played a few times for fun. You will learn the rules, scoring and positioning on the court. The class focuses on the full variety of shots including dinks, drops, volleys, ground strokes and serves. The goal of the class is to improve your consistency and game tactics while having fun. Instruction will include drills to learn strokes and shots plus game playing to put the skills learned into practice.  Advanced Beginner Pickleball             8 - 9:30 am This course is ideal for people who have learned to play, have a basic understanding of the game and are ready to take their play to the next level. Qualified participants should know the rules, how to keep score, and how to serve and return. They can play a full court game and get balls back over with some consistency. The goal of the class is to focus on skills refinement of your dinks, ground strokes, volleys and drops for accuracy, height and pace. You will work on your serve for consistency, depth and positioning. Tactics, positioning and game strategy will be introduced.  Drill and Play   9:30 - 11 am This class is designed for the passionate, experienced player looking to bring their game to the next level by developing refined strategies and techniques, both offensive and defensive. Players are able to keep score, understand shot selection, serve consistently, and understand court positioning. Each class consists of drills and coach-facilitated play. Drills will include work on consistency, keeping the ball low, drives and drops on the 3rd shot, purposeful dinking at the non-volley zone, resetting, transitioning, court positioning and offensive strategies. Game play will feature a variety of formats, scrambles, ladders, and round robin.

The word "Ije" derives from his Nigerian heritage where its literal meaning is "movement". Ije strives to help others adopt this lifestyle no matter what distractions, barriers or challenges arise. Ricky embodies the philosophy: You must "Keep Moving" toward your goals in life.

Indoor Winter Opportunities:1. Mondays, Wednesdays and Thursdays:    A "Drop-In" Play option is available from 10:00AM-11:30AM. Two Courts are available for rotating play. There will be 12 spots available. Players sign up for the available slots for the month(Ex. A player will sign up for the 4 Mondays in January) Online. The cost online is $10 per slot. Pickleball combines the rules and fundamentals of ping pong, tennis, and badminton. Pickleball combines the rules and fundamentals of ping pong, tennis, and badminton. It is played with a paddle and hard plastic ball with a tennis-type net on a badminton-sized court. Classes will include instruction in technique, tactics and strategy plus game play. The sport is a fun and great workout for all ages and abilities. Come join the Pickleball movement to learn the game or improve your skills. Participants should be prepared to play with court shoes, hat, sunscreen, water, and a paddle.  Please sign up for the class that meets your playing ability. This policy is best for you, your classmates and the instructor. The goal of the class is to focus on skills refinement of your dinks, ground strokes, volleys and drops for accuracy, height and pace. You will work on your serve for consistency, depth and positioning. Game play will include coaching on tactics, positioning and game strategy.  Intermediate (3.0-3.5 level) This class is designed for the passionate and experienced player looking to bring their game to the next level by developing refined strategies and techniques, both offensive and defensive. Players serve consistently, understand court positioning and shot selection, and are physically fit to move freely around the court.  Each class consists of drills and coach-facilitated play. Drills will include work on consistency, keeping the ball low, drives and drops on the 3rd shot, purposeful dinking at the non-volley zone, resetting, transitioning, court positioning and offensive strategies. Game play will feature a variety of formats, scrambles, ladders and round robins. Coach and Play (3.5 and above level)  Advanced players who are competitive and interested in tournament play. Men and Women are welcome for game play in singles, doubles and mixed doubles. Coaching will focus on playing strategy, preparing for speed-ups and resets, refining spin technique, the middle, right-side/left-side play, etc.. Players will be introduced to National Pickleball League https://usa-npl.com/ rating system to track progress. Players will be evaluated at the first class to confirm ability and placement.
