Indoor Winter Opportunities:1. Mondays, Wednesdays and Thursdays:    A "Drop-In" Play option is available from 10:00AM-11:30AM. Two Courts are available for rotating play. There will be 12 spots available. Players sign up for the available slots for the month(Ex. A player will sign up for the 4 Mondays in January) Online. The cost online is $10 per slot. If there are open slots a player may "Drop-In" day of and pay $15 for an open slot(All day-of players must Check-in at Rec Office prior to play).Priority for Drop-In slots will go to the Online registration players.2. Saturdays and Sundays:Court Reservations will be available from 8AM-10AM and 10AM-Noon. A Two-Hour court reservation is $50 and can be done online or over the phone. Two courts will be available for each time slot. For court rentals, you can reserve for singles play or doubles play (cost is the same). Please remember that for rentals all players are part of a single reservation.Please bring your own Indoor BallsDescription: the racquet sport that is the fastest growing sport in the United States. Pickleball combines the rules and fundamentals of ping pong, tennis, and badminton. It is played with a plastic or wooden paddle and hard plastic ball with a tennis-type net on a badminton-sized court. Adult Novice Pickleball   Individuals that are new to the sport. Have not been introduced to the rules, scoring and have not hit the ball (or may have a few times) should enroll for this class.CRONIN COURTS Adult Novice/Beginner Pickleball        11-12 am This course is for individuals that are new to the sport or have played a few times for fun. You will learn the rules, scoring and positioning on the court. The class focuses on the full variety of shots including dinks, drops, volleys, ground strokes and serves. The goal of the class is to improve your consistency and game tactics while having fun. Instruction will include drills to learn strokes and shots plus game playing to put the skills learned into practice.  Advanced Beginner Pickleball             8 - 9:30 am This course is ideal for people who have learned to play, have a basic understanding of the game and are ready to take their play to the next level. Qualified participants should know the rules, how to keep score, and how to serve and return. They can play a full court game and get balls back over with some consistency. The goal of the class is to focus on skills refinement of your dinks, ground strokes, volleys and drops for accuracy, height and pace. You will work on your serve for consistency, depth and positioning. Tactics, positioning and game strategy will be introduced.  Drill and Play   9:30 - 11 am This class is designed for the passionate, experienced player looking to bring their game to the next level by developing refined strategies and techniques, both offensive and defensive. Players are able to keep score, understand shot selection, serve consistently, and understand court positioning. Each class consists of drills and coach-facilitated play. Drills will include work on consistency, keeping the ball low, drives and drops on the 3rd shot, purposeful dinking at the non-volley zone, resetting, transitioning, court positioning and offensive strategies. Game play will feature a variety of formats, scrambles, ladders, and round robin.

12:00 PM - 1:00 PM    Chess - Chess (Ages 9-13)
Description: Chess is a great game for kids to develop their mental and competitive prowess. This course will   cover the basic rules and skills of chess: how the pieces move, how to record games and positions, the relative values of the pieces, popular tactics, and fundamental strategy. Kids will play each other to test out what they have learned.

Puppy Kindergarten is for Puppies 8-20 weeks.Get your puppy off to a good start with Puppy Kindergarten. Your pup will learn basic obedience, such as sit, down, stay, recalls, leave-it and loose leash walking. More importantly, your new best friend will be able to socialize with other puppies the same age. We will discuss housebreaking, chewing, nipping and all the ups and downs of puppy parenthood.At the end of each session, all pups are eligible to take the American Kennel Club's S.T.A.R. Puppy Exam. All puppies should show proof of Distemper Combo VaccinationBasic Manners:Whether you and your dog are just starting out in life together or you need an old dog to learn new tricks, this class teaches the fundamentals of obedience. We concentrate on the basics: sit, down, stay, recall, walking on a loose leash and polite greetings. All Ages. Puppy Kindergarten is for Puppies  8-20 weeks. Indoor Winter Opportunities:1. Mondays, Wednesdays and Thursdays:    A "Drop-In" Play option is available from 10:00AM-11:30AM. Two Courts are available for rotating play. There will be 12 spots available. Players sign up for the available slots for the month(Ex. A player will sign up for the 4 Mondays in January) Online. The cost online is $10 per slot. If there are open slots a player may "Drop-In" day of and pay $15 for an open slot(All day-of players must Check-in at Rec Office prior to play).Priority for Drop-In slots will go to the Online registration players.2. Saturdays and Sundays:Court Reservations will be available from 8AM-10AM and 10AM-Noon. A Two-Hour court reservation is $50 and can be done online or over the phone. We are so Excited to Bring back our FRIDAY NIGHT EVENTS!!!On Select Friday Nights, the Hingham Recreation Department will host an evening of fun and games in our Gameroom and Basketball gym for students in grades Kindergarten through 5th Grade. Our Recreation Staff will be there to oversee (and play) a variety of games (Dodge Ball, Nuke 'em, Soccer...). Our Gameroom will be open and our games will be on-- Skee Ball, Super Bikes, Foosball, Bubble Hockey, mini-basketball, and Sno Cross. We will have boardgames and Card Games (who doesn't want to play Uno? seriously)There will be MusicThere will be Pizza and Chips and Water.And if Parents happen to want to do something on a Friday night for a couple hours while their children are having a blast with the Rec Staff...Everyone wins.Events are $20 online (pre-registration ends an hour before the event) or $25 at the door.  Events run from 6:30 PM until 8:30 PM

Puppy Kindergarten is for Puppies 8-20 weeks.Get your puppy off to a good start with Puppy Kindergarten. Your pup will learn basic obedience, such as sit, down, stay, recalls, leave-it and loose leash walking. More importantly, your new best friend will be able to socialize with other puppies the same age. We will discuss housebreaking, chewing, nipping and all the ups and downs of puppy parenthood.At the end of each session, all pups are eligible to take the American Kennel Club's S.T.A.R. Puppy Exam. All puppies should show proof of Distemper Combo VaccinationBasic Manners:Whether you and your dog are just starting out in life together or you need an old dog to learn new tricks, this class teaches the fundamentals of obedience. Tactics, positioning and game strategy will be introduced.  Drill and Play   9:30 - 11 am This class is designed for the passionate, experienced player looking to bring their game to the next level by developing refined strategies and techniques, both offensive and defensive. Players are able to keep score, understand shot selection, serve consistently, and understand court positioning. Each class consists of drills and coach-facilitated play. Drills will include work on consistency, keeping the ball low, drives and drops on the 3rd shot, purposeful dinking at the non-volley zone, resetting, transitioning, court positioning and offensive strategies. There will be 12 spots available. Players sign up for the available slots for the month(Ex. A player will sign up for the 4 Mondays in January) Online. The cost online is $10 per slot. If there are open slots a player may "Drop-In" day of and pay $15 for an open slot(All day-of players must Check-in at Rec Office prior to play).Priority for Drop-In slots will go to the Online registration players.2. Saturdays and Sundays:Court Reservations will be available from 8AM-10AM and 10AM-Noon. A Two-Hour court reservation is $50 and can be done online or over the phone. Have not been introduced to the rules, scoring and have not hit the ball (or may have a few times) should enroll for this class.CRONIN COURTS Adult Novice/Beginner Pickleball        11-12 am This course is for individuals that are new to the sport or have played a few times for fun. You will learn the rules, scoring and positioning on the court. The class focuses on the full variety of shots including dinks, drops, volleys, ground strokes and serves. The goal of the class is to improve your consistency and game tactics while having fun. Instruction will include drills to learn strokes and shots plus game playing to put the skills learned into practice.  Advanced Beginner Pickleball             8 - 9:30 am This course is ideal for people who have learned to play, have a basic understanding of the game and are ready to take their play to the next level. Qualified participants should know the rules, how to keep score, and how to serve and return. They can play a full court game and get balls back over with some consistency. The goal of the class is to focus on skills refinement of your dinks, ground strokes, volleys and drops for accuracy, height and pace. You will work on your serve for consistency, depth and positioning. Tactics, positioning and game strategy will be introduced.  Drill and Play   9:30 - 11 am This class is designed for the passionate, experienced player looking to bring their game to the next level by developing refined strategies and techniques, both offensive and defensive. Players are able to keep score, understand shot selection, serve consistently, and understand court positioning. Each class consists of drills and coach-facilitated play. Drills will include work on consistency, keeping the ball low, drives and drops on the 3rd shot, purposeful dinking at the non-volley zone, resetting, transitioning, court positioning and offensive strategies. Game play will feature a variety of formats, scrambles, ladders, and round robin.

Have not been introduced to the rules, scoring and have not hit the ball (or may have a few times) should enroll for this class.CRONIN COURTS Adult Novice/Beginner Pickleball        11-12 am This course is for individuals that are new to the sport or have played a few times for fun. You will learn the rules, scoring and positioning on the court. The class focuses on the full variety of shots including dinks, drops, volleys, ground strokes and serves. The goal of the class is to improve your consistency and game tactics while having fun. Instruction will include drills to learn strokes and shots plus game playing to put the skills learned into practice.  Advanced Beginner Pickleball             8 - 9:30 am This course is ideal for people who have learned to play, have a basic understanding of the game and are ready to take their play to the next level. Qualified participants should know the rules, how to keep score, and how to serve and return. They can play a full court game and get balls back over with some consistency. The goal of the class is to focus on skills refinement of your dinks, ground strokes, volleys and drops for accuracy, height and pace. You will work on your serve for consistency, depth and positioning. Tactics, positioning and game strategy will be introduced.  Drill and Play   9:30 - 11 am This class is designed for the passionate, experienced player looking to bring their game to the next level by developing refined strategies and techniques, both offensive and defensive. Players are able to keep score, understand shot selection, serve consistently, and understand court positioning. Each class consists of drills and coach-facilitated play. Drills will include work on consistency, keeping the ball low, drives and drops on the 3rd shot, purposeful dinking at the non-volley zone, resetting, transitioning, court positioning and offensive strategies. Game play will feature a variety of formats, scrambles, ladders, and round robin.

Your pup will learn basic obedience, such as sit, down, stay, recalls, leave-it and loose leash walking. More importantly, your new best friend will be able to socialize with other puppies the same age. We will discuss housebreaking, chewing, nipping and all the ups and downs of puppy parenthood.At the end of each session, all pups are eligible to take the American Kennel Club's S.T.A.R. Puppy Exam. All puppies should show proof of Distemper Combo VaccinationBasic Manners:Whether you and your dog are just starting out in life together or you need an old dog to learn new tricks, this class teaches the fundamentals of obedience. We concentrate on the basics: sit, down, stay, recall, walking on a loose leash and polite greetings. All Ages. Puppy Kindergarten is for Puppies  8-20 weeks.
