The Isadora Duncan technique is based on the natural movements of walking, running, skipping and leaping, layered with imagery and story. The technique is inspired by classical music, poetry, nature and the sculpture, myth and literature of ancient Greece, is one of the primary roots underlying modern dance.
Each class offers a different theme where students dance in silk tunics using scarves, ribbons, feathers and flowers. In addition to the usual benefits of a dance class—flexibility, strength and stamina—students of the Isadora Duncan technique will hone their creative skills through improvisation, expressive dance and storytelling through movement. Classes run from September to May and culminates with an end of year performance.
